helping communities engage african american history.

Since 2014, Dr. Fanusie has overseen the preservation of the Howard Thurman Historical Home archives. The home's mission is to preserve the legacy of American religious scholar and civil rights thinker Howard Thurman, who was born and raised in the home in Daytona Beach, Florida. The home is registered as a National Historical Place by the US National Park Service. It serves as a place for the public to learn about the intellectual roots of the US civil rights movement, and to be a cultural and educational center for scholars, educators, spiritual leaders, and general members of the community to continue his work through workshops and seminars.

More information can be found about the Howard Thurman Historical Home at its official website and at the National Park Service's website.
